Anemone Horsetrucks Prix for Dutch Anniek van Dulst

After the ponies, the Young Riders also got to perform their freestyle on the second day of Indoor Friesland 2025. In the Anemone Horsetruck Prix, eleven combinations showed their four-legged dance to the judges. Just like yesterday in the Team Test, the victory remained Dutch, and even the entire top three were Dutch. Anniek van Dulst and her eight-year-old gelding My First Choice (by First Choice) achieved a fantastic score of 74.20%.

Yasmin Westerink finished second aboard her thirteen-year-old gelding Amphitryon Old (by Ampère) with a score of 73.79%. Third place went to Morgan Walraven and the nine-year-old mare Benecia (by Benicio), who scored 72.77%.

First year Young Riders

We spoke to runner-up Yasmin: “I'm happy. I was here last year too. I got good scores then, and now again. I feel comfortable here. The surroundings are fantastic, and everything is well-organized. I'd especially like to mention the stables and the riding surfaces. Alf, as we call him at home, felt really good during my freestyle, actually even in the warm-up area. I was able to keep him engaged. His walk still needs some work, and in the canter, one change didn't go through properly. However, I can't complain, because this test is new for us. I'm eighteen, and this is only my first year with the Young Riders. I'm taking lessons from Monique Peutz, and Alf is my own horse. I'm very proud of him; he does everything for me.”

Own stable

I'm eighteen years old, but I'm already completely into horses. My boyfriend and I own a business. He rides young horses and shows stallions. Then I take over the young horses and compete them. We both do what we're good at, and we complement each other perfectly.

Came by helicopter

It wasn't a given that I could compete here today. This morning I had to ride two horses in Dronten in the M and ZZ-Licht classes, and getting here on time by car wasn't going to happen. But Yasmin and her family came up with a creative solution so they wouldn't miss her test in Leeuwarden. "We decided to book a helicopter at Lelystad Airport. They picked us up at home and dropped us off at the soccer field next to the WTC—it was perfect."
