Britt Dekker returns to Indoor Friesland for Horses & Friends together with Univé
She's back in Leeuwarden for the third year. Once again, not one, but two shows are on the program. Horses & Friends, a spectacular family show featuring Britt Dekker, her pony Teddy, and her horse George. A family show, a world full of surprises, friendship, and wonder for children, families, and horse lovers who want to experience equestrian sports up close. With Horses & Friends, the organizers of Indoor Friesland want to show that horses are not just impressive sporting animals, but also the most special friends who can win your heart.

Fans were already lining the entrance well before the doors of the WTC Expo Leeuwarden opened. It was raining and storming outside, and what could be more fun than cozying up and watching a fantastic show by Britt, her horses, and friends?! The party began right at the entrance. A guard of honor with Frisian horses awaited the crowd.
The show. Of course, the star of the show arrived on horseback. Not in the saddle, but in style, riding a genuine Frisian Glass Landau by local celebrity Augustinus Hoekstra. Naturally, accompanied by a spectacular light and sound show.
The event continued with a Formula 1 section. Not with cars, of course, but with ponies. Everything else was the same. Red Bull and Mercedes teams, and even the safety car was present. The winner? Red Bull, of course!

And on! Dancing together, the famous Macarena had the audience on their feet! Meanwhile, the arena was being prepared for the next event. With, of course, Frisian horses! A magnificent pas de deux under saddle, accompanied by a sweet Shetland pony on long lines. The latter was also steered by a very young rider, the youngest member of the Hoekstra family, eleven-year-old Kjeld.
A moment many fans had been waiting for. Britt and her miniature pony, Teddy, entered the arena. Britt is doing liberty dressage with this very charming pony. Special: This was Teddy's first show. Together they demonstrated various exercises, and Britt also explained how she teaches these exercises at home. It was wonderful to see the bond between Britt and this pony. Presumably, many of Britt's fans' ponies will also be subjected to liberty dressage in the near future... "Anything works out, as long as you're patient," said Britt.

Once again, excitement and thrills. Many will have never heard of it, and we "fear" they'll try it at home: Horseboarding. This involves riding a skateboard behind a horse, which is ridden under the rider. Spectacular to watch, partly because the skateboarders are not only super fast but also performed tricks during their race.
Time for a break. Both for Britt and the audience. It was time to catch their breath, and it was much needed. To ensure the fans would be back in time, it was announced that Britt would also be grooming her beautiful grey horse, George, in preparation for their performance.
Benthe from Paardenpraat TV opened the second part of the show. She wasn't alone; none other than former World Champion IJsbrand Chardon entered the ring. And not alone, of course, with one of his magnificent four-in-hands. To the delight of the fans, Benthe took a seat on the back of the carriage, and IJsbrand wouldn't be IJsbrand if he didn't go full throttle around the ring...

Time for one of the show's highlights. Showtime for Britt and George! The popular duo performed various routines to the music of the film Silverstar, in which Britt and George starred. The fans watched in awe.
Once again, the program included time for the breed Friesland is so proud of. Hennie Roffel rode a magnificent freestyle to music aboard a Frisian horse.
There was also time for humor. The Horse Men, a very funny and super original team of three men from France, performed. Similar to clowns in a circus, but with horses, and of course, everything is more fun that way.
The show was full of variety. There were even stunts performed by Benthe, who had already performed with IJsbrand. Britt was also called in, and she entered the ring on a mini quad. The quad was parked in front of an obstacle, which Benthe then jumped over! But it got even more exciting! Benthe has her own stunt team, which then entered the ring. They performed the craziest antics, even with fire. Of course, everything involved horses.

All good things must come to an end, no matter how fun it is. However, there was a final, and not just any final! All the participants entered the ring once more. In a colorful parade, they passed the enthusiastic crowd. Britt had the last word, thanking her team in her own enthusiastic way and promising to be back next year!
Everything was accompanied by Stapelgek, who kept the crowd pumped up between each program segment. Stapelgek is the DJ duo that makes every party different. They know better than anyone how to get a crowd moving. What makes Stapelgek truly unique is their interactive concept: Every time they play, the audience decides which genre to play.
