Finally able to stay ahead of the ladies, Age Flapper wins Sijperda Rental Prix

The final day of Indoor Friesland 2025 has begun. The final of the one-star Small Tour has just been ridden: the Sijperda Verhuur Prijs, a classic course with a jump-off over a height of 1.25m. Fifty-five combinations started, fifteen of whom were eligible to return for the jump-off. He had already been present at the award ceremony several times, but had yet to secure a victory. The women have been too fast so far this weekend. Age Flapper won the Small Tour final with the six-year-old mare Okittaire (by Arezzo VDL) in 27.51 seconds.

The second and third prizes also remained in the Netherlands. Second place went to Iza Verhoven aboard the six-year-old gelding Comistrade Sb Z (by Comilfo Plus Z). Iza crossed the finish line in 28.20 seconds. Third place went to Yfke Priem. Yfke rode the ten-year-old gelding Kessel HX (by Cardento 933) and clocked 28.57 seconds.

Youth drives fast
"I finally won, it took a while. The horses also performed well on Wednesday at the Horses2fly finals, but things just didn't go my way in the jump-offs. Luckily, it worked out today; I have to be there on the last day. But about the fact that it didn't quite work out, the youngsters are really riding hard these days, and (laughing) I'm getting a bit older," the 31-year-old rider laughs.

Bought on loose jumping
I bought Okittaire when she was four and a half years old. There was a foal at the time. We bought her for free jumping. We love the sport, and that's why she's with us. She won't be used as a broodmare any longer and will eventually be sold. We make a living from the trade. This afternoon I'm riding the Horses2fly Super Final, and tonight I'm riding the Grand Prix for one-star riders.
