Eleven Cities jumping and harness racing prepare for the Frisian Evening
LEEUWARDEN – On Friday, October 16, (inter)national show jumping and the absolute top of Frisian harness sport will together form the backdrop for an evening full of sport, tradition, and experience. With the spectacular Frisian Eleven Cities Jumping and a program packed with national championships and prestigious classes, the Frisian Evening powered by Robben Metaalrecycling Groep promises to be another highlight of Indoor Friesland.
The evening opens with the return of the Frisian Eleven Cities Jumping, in which (inter)national show jumpers compete against each other in a spectacular class that has become inextricably linked to Indoor Friesland. The combination of top-level sport, speed, and an atmospheric ambiance makes this competition an impressive start to the Frisian Evening year after year.
After the show jumping spectacle, attention shifts to harness racing. The program includes the Dutch Championship for Pairs in the show carriage, the Dutch Championship for Stallions, the Prize of the Best, the Grandstand Class for the Sjees, Pairs in the Sjees, Young Riders for the show carriage, and Harness Under Saddle. Additionally, the Northern Harness Horse Championship will be held, featuring the best harness horses from the Northern Netherlands. The result is determined 50% by the jury and 50% by the applause meter, so that promises to be an exciting competition.
Only the very best teams and combinations will appear at the start for the Frisian classes. Most participants have already qualified during competitions last season and can therefore already look forward to an impressive evening.
Indoor Friesland takes place from October 9 to 17, 2026, at the WTC Expo Leeuwarden. The Friese Avond powered by Robben Metaalrecycling Groep will be held on Friday, October 16. More information about the program and ticket sales can be found on the Indoor Friesland website .
