Great victory for Dutch Jody van Gerwen

Indoor Friesland 2025 is over! The final SLTN Grand Prix, over a height of 1,55m, has just been completed. The WTC Expo was packed, and the atmosphere was traditionally convivial. Only four combinations were allowed back for the jump-off: three from the Netherlands and one from Egypt. The victory went to the only female rider in the group. Jody van Gerwen and the ten-year-old gelding Panamera Sth (by Jonsaunier Dwergse Hagen) were the only ones to remain clear. They crossed the finish line in 36.84 seconds.

Last year's winner finished second. Willem Greve and the thirteen-year-old stallion Highway Tn NOP (by Eldorado van de Zeshoek) dropped a pole and finished in 36.85 seconds. Third place went to Leopold van Asten. Riding the twelve-year-old gelding VDL Groep Nino du Roton (by Ironman van de Paderborre), he also had a fault. Leopold clocked 39.02 seconds.

Always fourth
Jody: "I was able to ride a fantastic jump-off. There were only four clear rounds, so I thought, I'm always fourth and I'm going for it. I was able to ride the ride I had in mind."

Starting point in Maastricht
National coach Wout Jan van der Schans is also present: “I'm very happy with Jody's performance. Speed is really important in many competitions these days, and she's shown she's mastered it. JIM Maastricht is in two weeks, and I've reserved two spots for those who perform well here. Jody will definitely get one of those spots; she truly deserves it. I'll also take her performance here into account when filling the starting positions for the remainder of the indoor season. There aren't many competitions like this, and I've learned a lot here in Leeuwarden.”

Public the most beautiful
Jody is pleased with the national coach's words: "Maastricht is a four-star event, a step up. I hope to compete in many more great competitions this indoor season. This was my debut at Indoor Friesland, and I really enjoyed it. What I loved most about this competition? Without a doubt, the large crowd that showed up and enthusiastically applauded every rider."

See you next year!
Four editions of Indoor Friesland 2.0, four Dutch victories: Willem Greve, Jeroen Dubbeldam, Willem Greve again, and now Jody van Gerwen. Who will be added to the list in 2026? Everyone who was involved in any way with Indoor Friesland 2025 this year, thank you for your dedication and attendance. We hope to see you next year at the WTC Expo in Leeuwarden!
