Horses2fly Super Final for fifteen-year-old Amber Kiewiet

On May 10th, the first qualifying competition for the Horses2fly competition took place at Outdoor Gaasterland in Harich, and today, five and a half months later, the Super Final was held in the magnificent arena of the WTC Expo in Leeuwarden. Youth is the future – that was proven once again today. Fifteen-year-old Amber Kiewiet can call herself the 2025 Horses2fly champion for a year. Together with her nine-year-old mare Glow of Fire van 't Vhij (by Latour VDM), she stopped the clock at 49.33 seconds.

Second place went to Linde Bulthuis. Linde rode the five-year-old mare Pellaminka (by Comthago VDL) across the finish line in 51.49 seconds. Sytze van Dellen finished third. Sytze rode the nine-year-old mare Latieza (by Emir R) in this class, and they finished in 54.82 seconds.

Win in three of four
After winning the Horses2fly 1.10m final last Wednesday, she was still a bit shy and quiet, but after winning the Horses2fly Super Final, she was grinning from ear to ear. With her horse at her side, she answered our questions: "That's because my horse is here now, which gives me a sense of security; he's my best friend. I didn't quite expect this, but I certainly hoped for it. I had planned to go from fifth to sixth on the inside, but I realized during my ride that going from third to fourth was better. No one had done that before, and I had to go last, so when I managed that, I knew I was good."

Confidence back
"I'll continue competing this horse in this class because I want to compete in the championships. For a higher level, I have a different horse. Moreover, I have a special bond with Glow of Fire. I lost my confidence for a while, and she gave me that back."
