Another victory for Michael Greeve in SLTN Prix CSI3*, Willem Greve second
The second Friday test at Indoor Friesland 2025 for the three-star riders is also complete. Forty-four combinations started, and once again, the top three were Dutch. Last night, he won the Grand Prix qualifier, and now he's added a victory in the SLTN Prix over a height of 1.45m against the clock. Michael Greeve and the eight-year-old gelding Rubens (by Luganer) crossed the finish line in 52.57 seconds, which was enough for the victory.
Last year's SLTN Grand Prix winner and yesterday's qualifying runner-up, Willem Greve, finished second. So, the numbers one and two were tied. Willem saddled the eight-year-old stallion Party in the Hus (by Kannan) for this class and clocked 54.34 seconds. Third place went to Tom Schellekens and the eleven-year-old mare Optima van de Bisschop. This duo clocked 56.67 seconds.
Two Greeves in form
Willem: "Both Greeves are in good shape, and their horses feel great. Party in the Hus spent a long time in Friesland, and my brother-in-law Jules de Bruijn has done a fantastic job training him. I took him over mid-summer. The horse has a lot of power and is a great thinker; he's truly a horse for the future."
Holiday for the horses
I'm currently doing well with horses, partly because I try to listen and observe them carefully. This allows you to work with a good team and good owners. Pretty Woman, for example, had eight weeks off after Calgary, which is important for a horse both mentally and physically. Grandorado TN continued for a while after that and is now on vacation.
Highway TN in Grand Prix
"I'll be riding Highway TN in the Grand Prix. I think Michael Greeve will be my biggest rival here. He's the man in top form. He has some fantastic horses and owners right now. The best possible winner? That would, of course, be Marriët Smit-Hoekstra."
