Two Golden Tickets for Jorinde Dolfijn in Eext
After Mildam, CH Eext was the place to be on Saturday, June 7th, to score points and even Golden Tickets for the Horses2Fly finals at Indoor Friesland 2025. Twenty-year-old Jorinde Dolfijn performed well, winning no fewer than two starting places for the highly sought-after competitions on Wednesday, October 22nd at the WTC Expo in Leeuwarden. She came, saw, and conquered in the 1.30m and 1.35m classes, riding New Starsina and Corney Z in times of 26.16 and 26.91 seconds, respectively.
In the 1.30m class, the ladies dominated. Elvi Koster and Marilene KL finished second, and Marianne Boerema and Clearmint took third place. They finished in 28.03 and 29.22 seconds. In the 1.35m class, Renate Beuving and Miss Congeniality took the red ribbon with a time of 27.04 seconds. Age Flapper finished third, saddled Mooi Rijke, in 27.24 seconds.

Still going to school
Jorinde is one of a twin. Her brother, Roelof Dolfijn, is also active in equestrian sports. While many Frisians are known for their speed skating, we've never seen her mother, Hester Klompmaker, except in the saddle. Jorinde still attends school, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Commercial Economics at the Johan Cruijff College in Groningen. She's currently completing a six-month internship. At home, the family has their own stable with fifteen horses, four of which Jorinde rides.
All Horses2Fly selections
Jorinde: "I didn't go to CH Eext specifically for Indoor Friesland. It's a nice competition and close to home. Although the opportunity to earn Horses2Fly points is certainly a nice bonus. I've also ridden Harich and Mildam, and we'll probably go to Tolbert and Zuidwolde as well."
New Starsina and Corney Z
In the 1.30m class, I rode New Starsina, a seven-year-old gelding by Zirocco Blue who's already very fast. So I seized the opportunities I saw. The 1.35m class was on the same course, so I already knew what I was capable of. I rode that one again, and it worked again. In this class, I started Corney Z, a nine-year-old gelding by Carthino Z. Incidentally, neither horse is mine. New Starsina belongs to Jannie Hooghiemstra, and Corney Z belongs to Pim Mulder and the Morsink family.

Fourth time Indoor Friesland
I've had the opportunity to compete all three times Indoor Friesland has returned, both nationally and internationally, and I love it there. Whenever a new date is announced, I'll mark it in my calendar. The competition is only half an hour from our stables, and I find both the arena and the atmosphere truly special. Nowhere is the crowd as enthusiastic as in Leeuwarden. Last year, I had a double clear round in the Grand Prix and finished fifth. I've never received so much applause. Indoor Friesland, in three words? Atmosphere, Frisian, and entourage.

Dream future in horses
My dream is to earn a full-time living with horses in the future. However, I do want to have a good education under my belt, and I also enjoy a life away from horses. I've learned there's more to life than just horses. Enjoying things with friends, going out to eat, going boating—I make time for those kinds of things. (laughing) Although, I mostly have horse friends. I'm away a lot, now also competing in multi-day international competitions, and I like to do something different every now and then. Those big international competitions are quite an experience, though. For example, I recently went to Hagen and had the opportunity to compete in Rotterdam. That last one was a dream come true. I train with Pim Mulder, but all the great five-star riders are my role models. I love watching them; I find it very instructive. So, I could really have a blast in Rotterdam.
