From international top-level sports to spectacular shows: discover the diverse program of Indoor Friesland
In just a few weeks, Indoor Friesland will open its doors once again. From October 9 to 17, the WTC Expo in Leeuwarden will be entirely dedicated to equestrian sport, entertainment, and Frisian hospitality. With top international sport, impressive shows, the Frisian horse, and an extensive straw village, Indoor Friesland offers a program in which every horse lover will find something to their liking.
International dressage in Leeuwarden
Indoor Friesland kicks off with three days of high-level dressage. During the international dressage weekend, national and international top riders will compete, alternating with talented combinations looking to measure themselves against the best in Leeuwarden. From ponies to Grand Prix, you will hardly find a more extensive program. We conclude the weekend with the SLTN Grand Prix Freestyle, so get ready to enjoy the highest level dressage has to offer.
Night of the Stallions & Breeder Café
Sport is not the only focus of our dressage weekend; breeding is also extensively covered. On Saturday afternoon, October 10, a Breeders' Café will once again be organized on our Media Square, where various breeders and stallion owners will engage in conversation. While last year's theme was “from breeding plan to stud stallion,” this year we continue with “Approved…and now onwards.” Following the Indoor Friesland Breeders' Café is the unique Night of the Stallions, where breeding, sport, and entertainment come together through stunning presentations of a wide variety of stud stallions.
Horses & Friends
Following the resounding success of recent years, a Horses & Friends show will take place again this year on Tuesday, October 13. We can't reveal everything yet, but Britt Dekker and Jesse Drent will definitely be there. Horses & Friends guarantees an afternoon full of horse fun for young and old!
Show jumping weekend: suspense until the last obstacle
During the international show jumping program, top riders from home and abroad compete for the highest honors in various classes, culminating in the concluding SLTN Grand Prix of Indoor Friesland 2026.
The finals of the Indoor Friesland Horses2Fly Competition on Wednesday traditionally form a spectacular kick-off to the show jumping week. On Saturday morning, the final of the Indoor Friesland Allspan Pony Cup is on the program. With this, regional show jumping once again takes a prominent place during Indoor Friesland.
The Frisian Evening: an ode to the Frisian horse and the Eleven Cities Jumping
A visit to Indoor Friesland is not complete without the beloved Frisian Evening. Back by popular demand this evening is the Elfstedenspringen (Eleven Cities Jumping), arguably one of the most exciting events of the weekend. During this atmospheric evening, the Frisian horse and harness sport take center stage in all its facets in a varied program including the Championship for Stallions in the Sjees and the Prize of the Best. An evening where sport, culture, and conviviality come together, and which enthusiasts look forward to year after year.

Have a great time in Leeuwarden, looking forward to Indoor Friesland!
